The Divide is set in a post-apocalyptic world after a nuclear attack hits the city of New York. A group of people survive the initial attack when the superintendent of the apartment building leads them to safety. Now trapped in an underground bunker, the survivors must come to terms with the tragic event that they have just faced. At first, the survivors try to remain hopeful that help will come. However, with each person having different views and personalities, they soon clash with one another. With no indication of how much time passes, days could turn to weeks, and weeks could turn to months. With a limited food and water supply, as well as the fear of the unknown, they soon realize there is a chance that no one is coming for them. Everyone tries their best to stay calm and rational, but when receiving an unexpected visit, the group realizes this event was no accident.

After losing one of the survivors, those that remain begin to panic and turn on each other. Not knowing who may have been poisoned from radiation after the door had been opened, and desperation for more food and water, has the survivors struggling to keep their sanity. Dealing with death and gruesome situations puts everyone on edge. As they become drained both physically and mentally, each of their dark sides begin to surface. Alliances are formed in a struggle to stay alive, as the radiation begins to taint their minds.

The Divide is a horror movie that shows viewers what could happen after a nuclear attack. It takes you through the journey of several people that will do anything to survive, after being exposed to radiation poisoning and the constant boredom a person can experience from being trapped for so long. The survivors must also face the fear of not knowing if they will ever escape, or if there is even a world to go back to.
