The film entitled The Dry Land is centered on the life and challenges of a man known as James. James returns to his home in Texas after being away in Iraq for so many years. He comes home to start a new life. He is quite happy to see his wife, his mother and very close friend all of whom he has greatly missed during the time he was away. They all try to support him so that he can start a new life all over again and forget the trauma of where he is coming from. They however, do not understand the pain he feels within and how much he suffers in silence. He feels very lonely and frustrated and believes nobody can help him feel better. One day he comes across his one time friend and colleague in the army known as Raymond. He feels better being around Raymond as he knows that as a former army Raymond knows and understands his predicament. Raymond starts helping him to recover by showing him some sympathy and always offers his friendship. As the two friends spend more time together they start to understand the effects that the wars had changed their perception and mentality about life. The friendship between James and Raymond starts causing problems in James' home. he no longer cares about anyone else by Raymond with whom he spends most of his time. His wife Ferrera suffers in silence and does not know what to do to help her husband give her some attention. James however continues to focus on his fight to regain his mental self. The main characters in the film include well known and talented actors and actresses such as Ryan O'Nan starring as James, America Ferrera starring as Sarah, Jason Ritter starring as Michael, Ethan Suplee as Jack, Wilmer Valderrama starring as Raymond. The film was written and directed by Ryan Williams. It was produced by Heather Rae and distributed by Maya entertainment.
