This film takes a look into a country that has been torn apart severely thanks to many years of a brutal, deadly civil war. The film is set in China in the years immediately following the massive revolution that saw the overthrow of the Qing Dynasty. Since the end of the war, China has been broken up into many different fiefdoms, with each sect boasting a violent warlord as it's leader. One such warlord is looking to recruit soldiers into his military in order to fight neighboring warlords for control. One of his recruiters uses magic in order to scare the people of the village into joining the fight.
