Watch The Little Shop of Horrors
- 1 hr 10 min
Botany enthusiast Seymour Krelboyne works at a run-down florist shop in Los Angeles' Skid Row, a district of low-income, low-life inhabitants. Despite the flower shop's few frequent customers, including a man who buys flowers to eat them for lunch, it is in serious financial distress and may soon close. After a shameful floral arrangement failure on Seymour's part, shop owner Gravis Mushnik fires him. In love with Audrey Fulquard, the shop's only other employee, Seymour begs Mr. Mushnik to change his mind, informing him of a strange new plant he crossbred using a Venus Flytrap and a butterwort which he has named Audrey Jr. Though he is underwhelmed by the plant's sad, drooping appearance, it is suggested to Mr. Mushnik that its strangeness would attract prospective customers' curiosity, and Seymour is given a week to revive it. Normal plant food is completely ineffective to Seymour's odd hybrid, whose leaves mysteriously open up at sunset, and he becomes discouraged and begins working with other plants. When he pricks his finger on a thorny plant and begins to bleed, however, Audrey Jr.'s leaves extend further, wordlessly pleading to Seymour for food. With dawning realization, Seymour drips his blood into the leaves of Audrey Jr., who becomes satisfied. As Seymour nightly deposits blood into the plant, it begins to thrive. Knowing that he cannot sustain the plant for long, Seymour takes a frustrated walk down the train tracks, during which he picks up a rock and tosses it, hitting a nearby man in the head. The man then falls unconscious onto the train tracks and is quickly killed by an oncoming train. With no witnesses around, a horrified but resourceful Seymour recovers the body and feeds it to the plant. As the murders pile up and the plant's fame increases, Seymour feels increasing pressure to keep the plant alive, so it can help the shop's growing success and keep the heart of his dear Audrey.
