The Net is a movie about an old writer who has become disillusioned. While he is considered a great author amongst critics, his literature has not been read in a while causing him to resent the young generation of his time. He ends up killing an escort to take out his frustration, leaving police clueless that he committed the crime. A journalist is the only person that suspects he committed the crime, but rather than persuade the writer to reveal the secrets to his column, he encourages the writer to write a story that reveals details about the murder.
