Juliet Devereau seems to have it all. She is a predominant emergency room surgeon in New York City; she is financially stable and has plenty of friends. Unfortunately, she came home from work early one day to surprise her live-in boyfriend and found him in the arms of another woman. Even though she still thinks about him daily, she decides to find an apartment of her own and move out. She puts up flyers at work with her phone number and almost immediately she receives a phone call for an open apartment. She makes an appointment to meet with the landlord, Max, the next day. It is a very quiet and spacious apartment in a beautiful Victorian building. Max tells her that his ailing grandfather actually owns the building and he moved there to help him. Juliet accepts the apartment and moves in that night. Her first night alone is rough; she feels like someone is watching her and she is even awakened in the middle of the night. When she leaves for work there is a gift basket at her doorstep. Max tells her that it is a gift from his grandfather. Her ex continues to call her for forgiveness and when she talks to a co-worker, she suggests it is time to move on. Her co-worker talks her into going to an art event that evening. She bumps into Max at the event and they begin to flirt with each other. As they walk home, her ex-boyfriend can be seeing watching them from the shadows. Juliet lets Max kiss her and then she realizes that she is still in love with her ex and asks Max to forgive her. Later that night she again gets the feeling like someone is watching her and after only two glasses of wine, she passes out. Bizarre circumstances continue and Juliet is positive that she is being watched; now she just has to figure out by whom.
