Red Dust is a political movie drama. Set in South Africa it deals with the aftermath of apartheid. When apartheid ended in South Africa the government wanted to avoid civil war. They did this by allowing those who had done violence on behalf of the government to file for amnesty. This is the story of a lawyer who travels back to South Africa in order to defend a government official in his trial for that amnesty. In societies where great change has taken place there is sometimes accommodation to make the change easier. This movie focuses on the South African solution to this problem.
