Claire is a well-known fashion photographer who believes her life is all planned out from her career to her marriage. While she is trying to get to her Christmas Eve wedding, a snowstorm brings a cold start to what she believes will be a great future. On her way to Colorado, her plane trip is cancelled, and there are no rental cars available for her to rent which leaves her the option of hitching a ride with Tom and his daughter Hilly. During their travels, all of their lives take a turn that they did not expect. When she arrives in Colorado, her fiance helps her make a big decision, the biggest decision of her whole life.
