The movie cast starred Katherine Heigle in the role of Abby Richter, Gerard Butler in the role of Mike Chadway, Bree Turner in the role of Joy; Eric Winter in the role of Colin the surgeon, Nick Searcy in the role of the television station’s boss Stuart, Jesse D. Goins plays the role as Cliff. Abby Richter is the producer of morning show in Sacramento and is good at her job. Unfortunately, the audience is not interested in anchor or personalities on the show which has brought down the ratings. Her boss Stuart tells her if the rating for the show doesn’t improve that the show will be canceled. Abby’s personal life is not going well either and she tries an online dating service to find her perfect guy. The only problem is when she goes on any date she prints up a profile and her assistant does a background check. So when she goes to meet a guy name Jim from the online dating service she knows everything about him causing an awkward situation. She returns home from her uneventful date and by accident her cat steps on the remote which turns on the cable show the ugly truth. The ugly truth hosted by Mike Chadway accepts people calling in and he gives them advice mostly to women from a man’s chauvinistic perspective. Abby is appalled about what Mike is saying and decides to call-in to tell him that not only is he a jerk and cocky about relationships. His response to her call is that she is cold hearted and Abby responds by hanging up the phone. The next day when Abby goes into work she finds out that her boss has hired Mike Chadway that host a call-in local cable show that promotes the ugly truth of relationships has a spot on her show for few minutes only to boost the ratings. The ratings go up and the show becomes a hit. Mike helps Abby by making a bet that causes men to look at her new sexy appeal. Her goal is to get the neighbor that is a surgeon Colin to go out with her on a date. Mike and Abby go through the movie to prove his relationship theories only to find love. At the end Abby and Mike find out that their feelings for one another are stronger than they want to admit.
