You've all seen Peter Pan with the jealous little fairy Tinkerbell. Now in Tinkerbell (2008) you get to see Tinkerbell's beginning. Floating on a dandelion seed we see the birth of Tinkerbell in beautiful white dress. She choose a few different tools to see what her powers are to choose which group of fairies she belongs to only to find that she is a Tinker fairy. Tinkerbell is not entirely thrilled with the decision and tries to learn how to do other jobs of her friends. What set her more in her way of trying to change herself was when she learned that she would not be going to bring spring to the rest of the world. She does not believe that her talent is as important as the other fairies who bring spring to the rest of the world. She tries to learn how to wake animals from winter slumber and to teach a baby bird how to fly. Her friend Fawn tries to help show her only to fail. Tinkerbell tries to learn how to manipulate and carry water from her friend Silver mist but that just in turn created a big wet mess. Trying to help flowers grow with the help of Rosetta that too in time proved to not be possible for poor Tinkerbell desperate to try and change who she was. Iridessa too tries to help Tinkerbell by trying to teach her how to catch light but this too was unsuccessful. In the end Tinkerbell creates a huge mess for herself, where it seems that the coming of spring would be delayed and all the other fairies hard work was destroyed. Tinkerbell finds out that she shouldn't have tried to change who she really was and that to solve her problems she had to be true to herself. Creating tools to help the fairies get ready for spring in a short amount of time she learns that her tinker abilities were just as important as any other fairies abilities and gets rewarded for her attempt to make things right. She gets to help bring spring to the rest of the world and go to where no other tinker fairy had ever gone before. Tinkerbell learns a valuable lesson to be true to yourself and try not to hide or change who you are. In time you will learn your place.
