Tous les matins du monde (All the mountains of the world) is a 1991 French film starring Gerard Depardieu, Jean-Pierre Marielle and Anne Brochet. The film is directed by Alain Corneau (Le Cousin). The story involves the grief-stricken viola player, Monsieur de Sainte Colombe (Marielle), who isolates himself and dedicates himself to music and his two daughters. Word of his musicianship travels across the country of France and requests are made for him to end his isolation and play for an audience. Everything changes when Marin Marais (Depardieu) asks to be taught the viola.
