Tungabhadra is a 2015 Telugu-language action-thriller film directed by debutant Srinivas Gogineni. The movie opens with a powerful background narrative of a village that lived peacefully for generations until the village head, Vasavanna (Kota Srinivasa Rao), decides to declare a war against their neighboring village. This turns the villages into bloody rivals, and the entire village becomes involved in it.

The movie follows the life of a young couple, Jayamma (Aditi Chengappa) and his lover Basavanna (Satyaraj). Jayamma is a sweet girl who has grown up in the midst of war and hatred but still believes in love and loyalty. Basavanna, a resident of a war-struck village, walks into Jayamma's life like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. They both fall in love with each other, and Jayamma helps Basavanna escape from his enemy village. The story then revolves around their plight to unite the rival villages and bring peace into their lives.

The key plot of the movie is the subsequent events that lead them to unite the two warring settlements. The movie explores several themes, including the power of love and the inevitable consequences of revenge. The plot is both predictable and formulaic but is somewhat compensated for by the excellent cast performances and the well-executed action sequences.

Satyaraj's portrayal of Basavanna, the brave and righteous protagonist, is a standout performance. His powerful screen presence is entirely breathtaking, and he carries the film from beginning to end. Aditi Chengappa is equally impressive as the innocent and stubborn Jayamma. Her performance is filled with light-hearted humor in the midst of the intense and violent surroundings.

Kota Srinivasa Rao's role as Vasavanna, the relentless and merciless villain, is also a highlight of the movie. He portrays the complex character with precision, and his performance is sure to send chills down the viewers' spine. The screenplay, written by director Srinivas Gogineni himself, is good, and the dialogues are impressively written with a fair amount of drama and suspense. However, the predictable storyline makes it lose some of its luster.

The music and cinematography also remain equally impressive. Music director Ravi Chandra has delivered good songs that blend in well with the background score. The action scenes have been choreographed smartly, and the movie boasts some well-executed stunts.

Overall, 'Tungabhadra' is a well-made commercial entertainer that engages the viewers with its captivating performance and thrilling action sequences. The movie's message of love, fraternity, and the futility of war is highlighted in a subtle manner. Despite the predictable storyline, the film keeps the viewers intrigued with its suspenseful moments and the engrossing performances by the cast. Watch this movie if you are looking for an action-packed film that delivers a healthy dose of entertainment.
