Underworld: Evolution is the third installment of an an action horror film produced by Screen Gems and Lakeshore Entertainment. Directed by Len Wiseman, the movie was written by him along with Danny McBride, Len Wiseman and Kevin Grevioux. Starring Kate Beckinsale, Bill Nighy and Scott Speedman, the story continues from the final night of the first film. Selene and Michael continue to attempt to save the Corvinus family from its secret past. An army in 1202 A.D. led by three vampires (Viktor, Markus and Amelia) make their way to a village ravaged by Lycans. Viktor and Amelia capture Markus’ brother, William Corvinus. As the most powerful werewolf, William is set to be imprisoned for all eternity, despite the defiance of Markus. Just after the end of the first film, Selene dispatches Michael to a safer house while she confronts Kraven at the mansion to stop him from killing Markus. However, Markus manages to destroy Kraven, his army and the mansion. After the battle, the elderly Lorenz Macaro sends a team to investigate. Viktor's rib cage is found to have a metal disk that matches Sonja's pendant, the other half of which Michael and Selene possess. Markus learns the whereabouts of Selene and Michael from surveillance cameras and departs to find them. Selene and Michael manage to evade him by hiding in a warehouse. There they share and express their love for each other. They set out to discover the significance behind the pendant. Selene recalls seeing it as a child. They travel to visit exiled vampire, Andreas Tanis, who reveals that it was Markus rather than Viktor who was the first vampire. Alexander Corvinus is the first immortal. Markus became a vampire after being bitten by bats. His twin, William, became a werewolf after wolves attacked him. Selene and Michael seek out Lorenz Macaro who is really Alexander Corvinus. Alexander tells them he has devoted his entire life to stopping the Vampire-Lycan War, but refuses to assist in killing his sons. Markus subsequently impales Michael on a pole. He then drinks Selene’s blood to learn where the hidden prison is located. Markus obtains the half pendant after mortally wounding his father. He reveals that he and William intend to rule the world as masters of the Hybrid race. Selene drinks Alexander's blood and her strength is enhanced giving her healing abilities equivalent to Hybrids Michael and Markus. Alexander tells Selene that she should become the future, after which he commits suicide by blowing up the ship.
