The movie begins with Padmanabham, who lives with his wife and children, shifting to a new house. The family is excited to start fresh in the new house. However, they soon discover that the house belongs to a wealthy man named Raghavaiah. The family members are worried that Raghavaiah will ask them to vacate the house.

Meanwhile, Padmanabham's son Ravi falls in love with Raghavaiah's daughter Jayanthi. When Raghavaiah learns about their love affair, he immediately opposes it. Raghavaiah, who is a devotee of Lord Rama, believes that his daughter should marry only someone who is devoted to Lord Rama. As Ravi's father and Jayanthi's father are in a feud, the two are forced to keep their relationship a secret.

In the meantime, Raghavaiah's son Prabhakar plans to marry his girlfriend Pushpalatha. However, Pushpalatha's father is not happy about their alliance, and he calls off their engagement.
