This story is set in 1990 in the suburbs of Nairobi, Kenya. A mysterious and frightening threat is starting to devastate communities in East Africa. The traditionalists are calling it a "curse caused by sorcery", and trained doctors and scientists are calling it a new virus that is transmitted through bodily fluids. The community is caught between both worlds.
The movie tells the story of a teenager, WAMBA who lives in a neighborhood (California - Nairobi) where AIDS is still not well known and death is often associated with sorcery. Living like his peers; Wamba sells used books in his spare time when he is not in school and gets help from his friends who usually refer customers.
Wamba and his friends spend a lot of time hanging out together, playing soccer and arguing at the neighborhood corner store. The day Wamba lost his parents who died of AIDS, he becomes everyone's enemy in the neighborhood. None of his friends want to be associated with him. They are scared because of the rumor in the neighborhood that Wamba is a sorcerer and a victim of AIDS.
Rejected and isolated Wamba questions himself about the death of his parents and realizes that they were suffering from AIDS which ultimately killed them. AIDS becomes a reality to him and not just a word.
Confronted by the wise elders in the neighborhood who are convinced Wamba and his family are involved in sorcery and his peers who believe he has AIDS which they believe is highly contagious through casual contact with infected person, Wamba fought to prove them wrong.
He confronts the wise elders who depend solely on traditional medicine and deny the existence of AIDS virus. He also confronts doctors who are in the midst of corruption and internal conflict in the hospital who focus more on their personal wealth than helping people with AIDS.
Through Wamba, we discover and learn about AIDS and how he handles the crisis in the neighborhood.

Wamba is a 2015 family movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 27 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 2.9.
