Wanderlust is a movie about a married couple who venture into an unexpected living situation. The movie stars Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd as Linda and George Gergenblatt. The story begins when George, who works for a successful company, learns the company has closed its doors. This leaves George and Linda strapped for money. They are not able to pay the rent on their spacious New York loft and are forced to go to Georgia so they can stay with George's obnoxious brother. On the drive to Georgia, they decide to look for a place to spend the night. The only sign they see is for a place called Elysium, which they assume is a bed and breakfast. As they get nearer to the hotel, they see a man walking around without any clothes on. Fearful, George tries to turn the car around only to have it flip over. Without the use of their car, the couple is forced to stay at the somewhat questionable bed and breakfast. The first thing that meets with George's disapproval is the lack of doors on the bedrooms. They also meet some of the other guests staying at Elysium and soon discover what they thought was a simple bed and breakfast is actually a hippie commune. The free-spirited ways of the commune do not meet with approval from George. Linda, on the other hand, is more receptive to trying new things and quickly forms friendships with many of the people staying there. One man, named Seth, is particularly attracted to Linda and goes out of his way to help her loosen up. George becomes very jealous of the relationship between Linda and Seth. George wants nothing more than to leave the commune as soon as possible. The movie takes a lighthearted comedic look at what life in a commune would be like compared to life in the city. There are many interesting characters who have very distinctive personalities. The commune is owned and run by a man named Carvin who can't seem to locate his original title to the property.
