In the film What Happened Was… two lonely coworkers decide to meet up for a dinner date. Jackie is a secretary for the law firm where Michael is a paralegal and invites Michael to join her for a meal in her home. The date is incredibly awkward at first and the small talk between the two characters gives the audience a sense that neither are truly happy with their lives and desire a change. The night becomes more and more interesting as Jackie and Michael reveal traits of their character that the other has not seen before.
