Watch Wild Reeds

In this French drama, four young people are discovering their sexual identities amidst the horrors of the Algerian War. Serge is a farmer's son who begins a relationship with Francois, who has not yet come out of the closet. His best friend Maite never admits her strong attraction to Francois and encourages him to embrace his homosexuality. She rebuffs Serge's increasing interest in her. When a new student, Henri, enters the boarding school as an exile from Algiers, it brings the effects of the war even closer into the young lovers' lives, causing each to question their beliefs.
