Renee is the owner of a casino in Nice who is being placed under pressure by the shareholders of the property to relinquish her control of the business. Renee is shocked by the arrival of her daughter, Agnes in Nice as she has nowhere else to go after the failure of her marriage. Agnes is convinced to vote against her mother over controlling the business by advisor Maurice. After the vote Agnes disappears and remains an unsolved mystery that Renee sets out to solve 30 years later and prove Maurice murdered her daughter.
