Watch Your Sister's Sister
A year after the event, Jack (Mark Duplass) is having a difficult time dealing with his brother Tom's death. At an evening intended to eulogize his brother's life, he blows up and realizes that he is in trouble. Iris (Emily Blunt) is Tom's ex-girlfriend who is concerned for Jack, and she makes him an offer to help get his mind right again. She sends him to her father's isolated cabin, where she wants him to have some quiet time and do some soul searching. With no modern-day distractions, Tom is already apprehensive about the decision, but with nowhere else to turn, he agrees to take the trip. Hannah (Rosemarie DeWitt), Iris's sister, has just ended a 7-year lesbian relationship and decides to use the cabin without letting her family know about it. When Jack gets there, he looks for the key to let himself in; instead he comes off like a prowler, and the two are momentarily surprised by each other. Unable to sleep at 3 in the morning and bored out of his mind, Jack tries to read a book, then realizes that Hannah is awake. He goes to investigate and sees her drinking at the table. She invites him to join her, and the two start talking about some of the troubles that brought them to this point. Once the tequila has taken effect, the conversation takes a new turn and pretty soon they are both thinking about getting physical with each other. They make their way to the bedroom, and after having to find a condom for Jack, they seal the deal. As Jack gets up the next morning, he is shocked to see Iris pulling in the driveway, especially since he had just gotten out of bed with her sister. Jack insists that Hannah not say anything about their brief encounter to her sister. This comedy drama is written and directed by Lynn Shelton.
