ZigZag is a 2002 crime drama movie that tells an emotional and compelling story of a young boy and his troubles with poverty, drugs and violence. The film is directed by David S. Goyer and features an all-star cast including John Leguizamo, Natasha Lyonne, Wesley Snipes, Oliver Platt and Sam Jones. The movie follows the life of a 14-year-old boy named Zig Zag (Sam Jones III) who lives with his abused mother (Natasha Lyonne) in a rundown apartment. Zig Zag spends his days avoiding bullies and getting by with petty crimes with his friends. He's a troubled kid who desperately wants to escape the harsh realities of his life.

Zig Zag's life takes a dramatic turn when his mother's violent boyfriend turned up dead, but she's the prime suspect in the murder case. Zig Zag sets out to prove his mother's innocence, and he turns to his disabled mentor, Singer (John Leguizamo), for help. Singer is an ex-con who runs a pawn shop and is known for being the smartest guy in the neighborhood.

Singer is reluctant at first, but he realizes that Zig Zag is truly his friend, and he decides to lend him a hand. Singer is also dealing with his own problems, such as his failing business and his drug-addicted girlfriend (Natashia Williams).

Together, Zig Zag and Singer hatch a plan to clear Zig Zag's mother's name. They use a clever scheme to steal money from the local drug dealer, played by Wesley Snipes, and use that money to hire a top-notch attorney for Zig Zag's mother.

Zig Zag learns a lot about life and friendship throughout his journey. He discovers that he has to stand up to bullies and face his own fears, and he also finds out that he has a lot of support from people who truly care for him.

The film's director, David S. Goyer, does an excellent job in bringing out the emotions of the story. The film has a gritty and realistic feel, and it's easy to empathize with the characters. The performances by the cast are all excellent, with John Leguizamo being a standout. He brings depth and complexity to Singer, and his scenes with Zig Zag are heartwarming and genuine.

Overall, Zig Zag is a well-crafted crime drama that packs an emotional punch. It's a story of friendship, loyalty and redemption, and it's definitely worth a watch.

Zig Zag is a 2001 drama with a runtime of 101 hours and 2 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.9 and a MetaScore of 58.
