Aggretsuko season 3 episode 3, titled A Sheltered Life, follows Retsuko, the red panda protagonist, as she deals with the aftermath of her disastrous date with Tadano in the previous episode. Feeling betrayed by Tadano's actions, Retsuko decides to turn to her work to get her mind off things. However, work doesn't seem to be a safe haven for her for too long.

The episode begins with Retsuko starting a new project at work, where she's tasked with creating an animation for a children's show. Despite her initial excitement, things quickly take a turn for the worse when she realizes that her work has been stalled by one of her colleagues. Retsuko's colleague obsesses over a documentary on the tiniest of creatures and refuses to do anything else at work until she's sure that she's done with the documentary.

Retsuko finds this behavior incredibly frustrating, especially since she has a deadline to meet. To make matters worse, her colleague's obsession with the documentary has sparked a newfound interest in nature in the entire office. While Retsuko struggles to work on her project, her colleagues are busy watching documentaries and sharing their newfound knowledge with each other.

As the days go by, Retsuko starts to feel more and more isolated at work. She finds it hard to connect with her colleagues who are so invested in their new hobby. In an effort to fit in, Retsuko starts to watch the documentaries with them. However, she quickly realizes that this isn't something she's interested in at all.

Feeling frustrated and isolated, Retsuko decides to take a break from work and goes to hang out with her friends. On her way there, she sees Tadano with his new girlfriend and this triggers a whole new wave of emotions for her. She feels sad, angry, and even jealous at the sight of them together.

When Retsuko finally joins her friends, she tries her best to mask her emotions and have a good time. However, her friend's constant chatter about relationships makes it even harder for her to cope. She feels like she's stuck in a world where everyone is happy and she's the only one who's not.

Towards the end of the episode, Retsuko finally breaks down and confides in her friends about her struggles. She tells them about her failed date with Tadano, the problems at work, and how she feels like she's not fitting in with anyone. Her friends listen patiently and offer her words of encouragement and support.

The episode ends on a hopeful note, with Retsuko feeling a little better about herself and her life. She realizes that she doesn't need to fit in with anyone and that it's okay to have different interests. She also understands that she doesn't need to be in a relationship to be happy and that it's important to focus on herself first.

Overall, Aggretsuko season 3 episode 3 is a poignant exploration of loneliness, isolation, and the pressure to fit in. It's an episode that many viewers will relate to on a personal level, especially those who have also struggled with feeling like they don't belong. Through its relatable storyline and lovable characters, the episode manages to offer both comfort and hope to those who need it.
