Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is a popular Japanese anime series that premiered in 2019. The show follows the story of a young boy named Tanjiro Kamado, who lived with his family in the mountains. One day, while he was out selling charcoal, he returns to his home to find his family brutally murdered by demons. However, he finds out that his younger sister, Nezuko, is still alive but has been turned into a demon. Determined to find a cure for his sister's condition and avenge his family, he sets out on a journey to become a Demon Slayer.

The series is directed by Haruo Sotozaki and produced by Ufotable. It is an adaptation of the manga of the same name by Koyoharu Gotouge. The show has exceptional animation and a gripping storyline that has kept viewers hooked from the start. The episodes are fast-paced, with a lot of action, drama, and emotional moments that make for an engaging watch.

The main character of the show, Tanjiro, is voiced by Natsuki Hanae. He brings to life the character of a dedicated and selfless brother who is willing to do anything to save his sister. He is highly empathetic and has a strong sense of justice that motivates him to become a Demon Slayer. He is also highly skilled in swordsmanship and has a kind heart that often puts him in dangerous situations.

The English voiceover for Tanjiro is provided by Zach Aguilar, who does an excellent job of bringing the character to life. He adds depth to the character with his emotional delivery, making viewers feel invested in his journey. Alongside Aguilar, other notable voice actors who contribute to the show include Abby Trott, who voices Nezuko Kamado, and Aleks Le, who voices Zenitsu Agatsuma.

One of the highlights of the show is its beautifully crafted animation. The animation studio, Ufotable, is renowned for its exceptional animation quality, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is no exception. The studio has perfectly captured the beauty of the show's setting, which includes a mix of picturesque landscapes and dark forests. The fight scenes are exceptionally well choreographed, with fluid animation that leaves viewers spellbound.

In addition to the animation, the show's music also deserves mention. The soundtrack, composed by Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina, is a perfect fit for the show's tone. The music is atmospheric and adds to the emotional impact of the show. The opening song, "Gurenge" by LiSA, is also highly popular among fans of the show.

The show is not without its flaws, however. For instance, some viewers have criticized the show's pacing, which can be slow at times. Others have complained about the lack of character development for some of the supporting characters. Nonetheless, these criticisms are relatively minor compared to the overall quality of the series.

Overall, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is an exceptional anime that should not be missed by fans of the genre. Its gripping story, stunning visuals, and emotional impact make it a must-watch for anyone looking for an engaging and entertaining show. It is an excellent representation of what modern anime can achieve and a testament to the quality of Japanese animation.

While eavesdropping, Tanjiro watches as Muichiro threatens the swordsmith he was arguing with. He tries to defend him but the indifferent Hashira knocks him out for interfering. After waking up, the boy, named Kotetsu, explains that the "man" he saw is actually an advanced mechanical training doll, built after a swordsman who lived over 300 years ago. He explains the doll was made by his ancestors, and as he lacks a family, it is all he has to pass on to the next generation. Tanjiro agrees to protect it, but Muichiro appears, having finished his training session and causing extensive damage. However, after Kotetsu discovers it is still functional, he tells Tanjiro to train with it in order to become stronger than the arrogant Muichiro. However, training proves harsh as Kotetsu denies Tanjiro food and water when he fails to connect hits on the doll. When Tanjiro eventually faints from exhaustion, he imagines himself in the afterlife and sees a peculiar stone in the Sanzu River, enabling him to detect a scent faster than the Opening Thread. He uses this to his advantage, eventually landing a powerful strike on the doll's head, which shatters and reveals a concealed sword inside.
