Ep 5. Mt. Juliet

Ruby and AJ make a pit stop in a small town called Mt. Juliet to rest up, but as always, chaos seems to follow them wherever they go. While there, they encounter a group of pageant moms who pressure Ruby into signing up AJ for the child beauty pageant. Meanwhile, Ruby runs into an old friend who still harbors feelings for her, causing conflict between her and her current love interest, Hector.

As AJ prepares for the pageant, Ruby struggles to balance her own personal drama with the demands of being a parent figure for AJ. The pageant proves to be a bizarre and competitive environment, as Ruby and AJ are pitted against overbearing stage moms and their precocious children. AJ finds herself enjoying the attention but Ruby begins to question the ethics of the pageant culture.

As tensions rise, Ruby’s ex-boyfriend shows up looking for trouble and the situation quickly spirals into a dangerous showdown. Ruby must confront her past and come to terms with the feelings she still harbors for her ex, all while protecting AJ from the conflict.

In the end, Ruby and AJ escape Mt. Juliet with a newfound realization of the importance of their bond. The experience brings them closer together and strengthens their resolve to keep pursuing their dream of making it to Texas.
