Juan is trying desperately to get his father to change his mind about the banjo. But Gildardo remains adamant, refusing to even speak to his son about music. Meanwhile, Ana becomes increasingly worried about her brother's behavior. She suspects that he may be involved in some shady business dealings, but when she confronts him about it, he denies everything.

As Juan continues to work at the construction site, he becomes more and more disillusioned with his life. He misses his music and the way it used to make him feel. He longs to be able to play again, but he knows that he can't do it without his father's permission.

One day, as Juan is walking home from work, he comes across a group of musicians playing on the street. They're playing the banjo, and Juan is immediately drawn to their music. He watches them for a while, marveling at their skill and the joy they seem to derive from playing.

After a while, one of the musicians approaches Juan and asks him if he wants to join in. At first, Juan is hesitant, but as the music swells around him, he can't resist. He picks up a banjo and starts playing along.

For the first time in weeks, Juan feels alive. The music fills him with a sense of purpose and meaning that he hasn't felt in a long time. He plays with the group for hours, until the sun sets and they're forced to disperse.

As Juan walks home, he knows that he can't keep his newfound passion for music a secret from his family. He knows that he has to tell his father about it, no matter how difficult it may be.

When he arrives home, he finds his family gathered around the table, eating dinner. Gildardo is in a sour mood, still refusing to speak to Juan. But when Juan starts talking about the street musicians, something changes in his father's demeanor.

Gradually, Gildardo begins to soften. He asks questions about the music and the instruments, and Juan can feel the tension between them dissipating. Finally, Gildardo approves of Juan's banjo playing, but he enforces a few conditions upon him.

Firstly, Juan must keep up with his job at the construction site and, secondly, he cannot associate with the "wrong crowd" that may corrupt him. Juan promises to comply with his father's conditions, but the audience can sense his uneasiness about the subtext.

As the night wears on and the family slowly drifts off to bed, Juan sits in his room, playing his banjo. He feels like a new man, reborn by the music that he had almost forgotten.

He knows that he has a long way to go before he can fully realize his dream of becoming a musician. But for now, he's content to bask in the glow of his newfound passion and to continue to explore the world of music that he loves so much.
