Mr. Rumbold begins by asking each of them about their underwear, much to their embarrassment. He then proceeds to read out part of the letter, which causes confusion and misunderstanding.

The remainder of the episode is a series of comic misunderstandings and mishaps, as the staff of the menswear department attempt to unravel the confusion and prove their innocence. Will they be able to clear their name, or will they be fired for wearing inappropriate underwear?
