Ep 5. That's My Sweatshirt

Sam is still upset about the fact that Paige's dad doesn't like him, so he decides to do something about it. He asks Paige to borrow one of her dad's sweatshirts, thinking that if he wears it, her dad will like him more. However, when Paige's dad sees him wearing the sweatshirt, he tells Sam to take it off and accuses him of stealing it. Paige is furious with her dad and tries to defend Sam, but he just wants to leave.

Meanwhile, Elsa is still trying to figure out how to reconnect with Doug. She decides to take a pole dancing class to try to add some spice to their relationship. At first, Doug is uncomfortable with the idea, but Elsa assures him that it's just for fun. However, when he sees her in her pole dancing outfit, he starts to feel jealous and left out. He talks to his friend Gretchen about it and she suggests they try something new together like rock climbing. Doug takes her advice and suggests they go ice-skating, which ends up being a success.

Back at school, Casey is struggling with her feelings for Izzie. She tries to avoid her, but they end up paired up for a project. The tension between them is palpable and Casey eventually snaps, telling Izzie that she can't keep pretending that they're just friends. Izzie, shocked by Casey's outburst, says that they never had to pretend and that she's been fine with just being friends. Casey confesses that she can't be "just friends" with her because she likes her too much. Izzie responds by saying that she likes Casey too and they share a moment.

Later, Casey overhears Evan talking to his friends about how he's going to ask her to prom. She realizes that she has to tell him about her and Izzie before he hears it from someone else. She tries to talk to him, but he's so excited about prom that he isn't really listening. Eventually, she just blurts it out, and Evan is shocked. He asks her if she's sure about how she feels and she says that she is. Evan, understandably hurt, says that he needs some time to figure things out.

The episode ends with Sam and Paige talking about what happened earlier. Sam is still upset about her dad not liking him, but Paige tells him that he shouldn't worry about it because her parents can be overprotective. She gives him a hug and tells him that she likes him just the way he is. They kiss and it seems like everything is going to be okay between them.
