Sam Gardner, a high-functioning autistic teenager, is back with a new season of Atypical named Episode 2. The second episode of the series follows Sam as he navigates the complex world of college life.

The episode begins with Sam in his quiet study room, trying to figure out his schedule for the new semester. The task seems daunting as he struggles with his anxiety, but he is determined to overcome it. He makes a list of things to do and starts ticking them off one by one.

As he settles into his new routine, Sam finds that he is having trouble adjusting to college life. He struggles with the social norms and making friends, and his anxiety starts to get the better of him. His therapist, Julia, suggests that he join a club to meet new people. Sam decides to join the fencing club, hoping to make some friends and improve his social skills.

Meanwhile, Sam's sister Casey is facing her own challenges. She has just started attending a new school, and she is finding it hard to fit in. She is also struggling with her feelings for Izzie, a fellow student at the school. Casey is torn between her feelings for Izzie and her loyalty to her boyfriend, Evan.

At school, Casey also has to deal with a track coach who is overly harsh and demanding. Despite her reservations, Casey joins the track team, hoping to prove herself and earn the coach's respect.

As the episode progresses, we see Sam and Casey dealing with their respective challenges. Sam is trying to fit in with his new friends in the fencing club, but he gets into an argument with them when they make a derogatory comment about autism. However, Sam refuses to back down and stands up for himself and others like him.

Meanwhile, Casey's relationship with Izzie grows more complicated. She finds herself drawn to Izzie, but she is afraid of what people will think and how they will react. She confides in her friend, and he advises her to follow her heart and do what makes her happy.

In the end, both Sam and Casey come out stronger and more confident. Sam learns to stand up for himself and others, and Casey learns to follow her heart and be true to herself.

Overall, Episode 2 is a heartwarming and insightful look into the challenges faced by young adults with autism and their families. It tackles important issues such as social norms, peer pressure, and the struggle to fit in. At the same time, it celebrates the strength and resilience of these individuals and shows that with the right support and guidance, they can overcome any obstacle.
