Vincent Gigante sends his men to intimidate Mayme but Bumpy stands up to them and makes it clear that he won't back down. Later, Bumpy is ambushed by the Italians and barely escapes with his life.

The episode ends with Bumpy meeting with Malcolm X, who offers him a deal: he will help Bumpy take down the Italians in exchange for his support of the Nation of Islam's efforts to establish a mosque in Harlem. Bumpy is conflicted but ultimately decides to go along with the plan.

"Mecca" sets up the rest of the series, introducing the major players and their motivations.
