In episode five of City on a Hill season one, entitled "From Injustice Came the Way to Describe Justice," tensions continue to rise between the Boston Police Department and the African American community. As the investigation into the armored car robbery continues, Jackie Rohr (played by Kevin Bacon) and Decourcy Ward (played by Aldis Hodge) struggle to find a lead. Meanwhile, Alden (played by Mark O'Brien) tries to protect Siobhan (played by Lauren E. Banks) after she becomes the target of a violent attack.

The episode begins with Jackie and Decourcy meeting with a witness who claims to have information about the armored car robbery. However, the witness is hesitant to talk to the police and insists that he needs protection for himself and his family. Jackie promises to keep him safe but warns that if he doesn't give them anything useful, he will be arrested.

As they continue their investigation, Decourcy and Jackie run into a wall of silence from the African American community. They realize that they won't be able to solve the case without the community's help, but they don't know how to gain their trust. Meanwhile, tensions rise between the police department and the community as a teenager is shot and killed by a police officer during a routine traffic stop.

While all this is happening, Alden is trying to protect Siobhan after she is attacked by a group of men. He takes her to his apartment and tries to help her through her trauma. However, she refuses to go to the hospital, fearing that the police will find out what happened to her.

The episode ends with Jackie and Decourcy getting a lead on the armored car robbery. They track down one of the suspects and bring him in for questioning. However, the suspect refuses to talk and insists that he needs a lawyer. As they leave the interrogation room, Jackie tells Decourcy that they need to take a different approach if they are going to solve the case.

Overall, "From Injustice Came the Way to Describe Justice" is a tense and gripping episode that explores the themes of police brutality, systemic racism, and the struggle for justice. The episode does an excellent job of portraying the complex and nuanced issues facing the city of Boston in the late 90s, and it sets the stage for the rest of the season. Fans of crime dramas and gritty police procedurals will definitely want to give this episode a watch.
