Apophasis is the seventh episode of City on a Hill's second season. The show is a gritty crime drama set in the early 1990s in Boston. The series follows ambitious Assistant District Attorney Decourcy Ward (Aldis Hodge) and corrupt FBI agent Jackie Rohr (Kevin Bacon) as they team up to take down a group of armored truck robbers.
In Apophasis, tensions continue to rise between Ward and Rohr as they each pursue their own agenda in the investigation. Ward is still trying to build a case against the robbers while Rohr tries to protect his own interests within the FBI. The two are forced to put their differences aside, however, when they receive a deadly threat.
Meanwhile, Reverend Fields (Clifton Davis) struggles with his own demons as he tries to help his parishioner, Grace Campbell (Pernell Walker), deal with the aftermath of her assault. The reverend finds himself questioning his own faith and beliefs as he tries to console and support Grace.
At the same time, Cathy Ryan (Amanda Clayton) continues to struggle with addiction and finds herself in a dangerous situation when she tries to buy drugs. Her boyfriend, Jimmy Ryan (Mark O'Brien), tries to keep her safe and clean, but Cathy's addiction threatens to tear them apart.
As the episode progresses, the stakes get higher for Ward and Rohr as they get closer to the truth behind the armored truck heist. With danger lurking around every corner, they must use all of their skills and resources to protect themselves and bring justice to the perpetrators.
Apophasis is a gripping episode that showcases the complex characters and high-stakes drama that City on a Hill is known for.
