Classic Doctor Who Season 12 Episode 6 The Ark in Space: Part 2

The Ark in Space: Part 2 is the sixth episode of the twelfth season of the British science fiction television series, Classic Doctor Who. The episode continues the story of the previous episode, The Ark in Space: Part 1, where the Fourth Doctor, Harry Sullivan, and Sarah Jane Smith find themselves on a spaceship replete with cryogenically frozen humans from Earth's future, that is on a mission to find a new home for humanity due to the imminent destruction of Earth by solar flares.

The episode picks up with the Doctor and his companions continuing to explore the ship and discovering that the humans they had assumed were still in cryogenic sleep were in fact awoken. They meet Noah, one of the leaders, who explains that there has been a power failure, which has caused a backlog with the cryogenic chamber. As a result, the humans were prematurely awoken, which has lead to a variety of issues on the ship.

The Doctor and his companions quickly become embroiled in the various issues, including a group of humans infected by a lethal virus that turns them into giant insectoid creatures. The Doctor is able to devise a treatment for the infected humans which involves freezing them until a cure can be found. Meanwhile, Sarah Jane discovers a small group of humans who do not agree with the leaders and their decisions. These humans want to return to Earth and believe that they can survive despite the impending destruction.

As the Doctor and his companions work to find a solution, they are also faced with a new problem: the presence of an alien race known as the Wirrn, who are invading the ship. The Wirrn are a race of insect-like creatures who are looking to take over the ship and use it to find a new home for themselves. The Doctor, Harry and Sarah Jane must battle the alien invaders while also trying to find a way to help the humans on board.

As the situation becomes increasingly dire, the Doctor is able to use his intellect to come up with a plan to save everyone on board the ship. Using the cryogenic chamber, he is able to blast the remaining Wirrn into space and alight the ship on an uninhabited planet, ensuring the safety of the human race.

The Ark in Space: Part 2 is a thrilling and action-packed episode that continues to explore the Doctor's unwavering determination to protect all life forms, even if they are not from his own time.
