The episode "Terminus: Part 1" is the thirteenth and penultimate episode of the twentieth season of the classic British sci-fi series Doctor Who. It first aired on February 15th, 1983, and was written by Stephen Gallagher and directed by Mary Ridge.
The Doctor, played by Peter Davison, and his companions Tegan (Janet Fielding) and Turlough (Mark Strickson) find themselves on a massive spaceship hurtling toward a space station called Terminus. The ship, which is called the Empress, is a giant hospital vessel that travels throughout the universe picking up sick and injured passengers.
As the TARDIS crew explores the empty corridors of the ship, they come across a group of people who are clearly suffering from some kind of horrible disease. They soon discover that the disease is called Lazar's Disease and that it is highly contagious and often fatal.
The Empress is on its way to Terminus, a space station that is supposed to be a place of healing for those suffering from the disease. However, the Doctor soon learns that something sinister is afoot at Terminus. The station is run by a group of mysterious figures called the Vanir, and they seem to be using the passengers on board the Empress for some kind of nefarious purpose.
Meanwhile, Tegan and Turlough are captured by a group of raiders who have infiltrated the ship. The raiders, who are known as the Garm, are a group of mercenaries who have been hired to steal a valuable cargo from the Empress. Tegan and Turlough find themselves caught in the middle of a dangerous game of cat and mouse between the Garm and the crew of the Empress.
As the Doctor delves deeper into the mysteries of Terminus and the Vanir, he uncovers a shocking truth about the nature of the Lazar's Disease and the true purpose of the space station. With time running out, the Doctor must race against the clock to find a way to stop the Vanir and save the passengers on board the Empress before it's too late.
"Terminus: Part 1" is a thrilling and suspenseful episode of Doctor Who that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. With its intricate plot and complex characters, it is a fantastic example of the best that classic British sci-fi has to offer.
