Back at IE, it is revealed that Vaughn has been in communication with the Cybermen, and they are planning to invade Earth with the help of his factory and its creations. They have also captured Zoe, a young mathematician who had become friends with Jamie and the Doctor in their previous adventure.
Finally, the Doctor meets Captain Turner, who tells him that the invasion has already begun, and that they must go to the IE factory to investigate.
The episode ends with the Cybermen marching out of their spacecraft and heading for the IE factory.
