Dalziel & Pascoe is a British detective television series based on the novels by Reginald Hill that aired from 1996 to 2007. In season 10 episode 7, titled "Guardian Angel (Part 1)," the duo are called to investigate two seemingly unrelated deaths that are both thought to be accidental at first.

The episode starts with a man named Roy Taylor falling to his death from his balcony, with his wife and daughter as witnesses. The police quickly rule it as a tragic accident, but a private investigator named Karina Malikov is hired by the daughter to look into it further. She believes that her father was pushed and is determined to prove it, despite her mother's protestations.

Meanwhile, Pascoe is investigating the death of a young woman named Rachel Hewitt, who was found drowned in a lake. Her boyfriend is the prime suspect, but Pascoe isn't so sure. He discovers that Rachel had a troubled past and was involved in a dangerous game that involved jumping off a bridge into the lake. He starts to suspect that her death may have been connected to this game in some way.

As the two investigations continue, Dalziel and Pascoe start to uncover connections between Taylor and Hewitt's deaths. They realize that they may be dealing with a vigilante who believes that they are doing the right thing by killing people they see as a threat to society. This leads them to investigate a group called the "Guardian Angels," who claim to be working to make the world a better place but may be crossing the line into vigilantism.

The episode ends on a cliffhanger as Karina uncovers evidence that seems to confirm her theory that Roy Taylor was pushed, and Pascoe discovers a disturbing correspondence between Rachel and one of the Guardian Angels. Both investigators are left with more questions than answers as they try to untangle the web of connections between the two cases.

Overall, "Guardian Angel (Part 1)" is a tense and engrossing episode that keeps the viewer guessing until the very end. The two seemingly unrelated cases are cleverly linked, and the introduction of the vigilante group adds an extra layer of intrigue. The performances of Warren Clarke as Dalziel and Colin Buchanan as Pascoe are as strong as ever, and the supporting cast all deliver solid performances as well. Fans of the series will not be disappointed by this gripping episode.
