Coco also has to make a tough decision when she's offered an opportunity at Pastiche Magazine, but at the expense of her integrity.
Meanwhile, Reggie is trying to recover from the traumatic experience of being held at gunpoint by the campus security guard. He tries to confront the fear and anger that he feels but struggles with finding a healthy outlet. Gabe, likewise, is grappling with his part in the racial tensions on campus, especially in his relationship with Sam.
As the episode progresses, the situation at Winchester becomes increasingly volatile. Protests erupt on campus, and tensions between different groups come to the forefront. The episode ends with a shocking cliffhanger that leaves the audience eagerly anticipating season two.
Overall, "Chapter X" is a powerful and thought-provoking finale to season one of Dear White People. The episode tackles difficult themes related to racism, discrimination, and identity, but does so in a way that is both earnest and nuanced. The acting is superb, and the writing is sharp and insightful. Viewers will be left pondering the issues the show raises long after the credits roll.
