In Derek season 2 episode 2, viewers are taken once again to Broad Hill retirement home, where we catch up with the gentle and lovable Derek and his coworkers at the home. The episode opens with Derek, played by Ricky Gervais, and his friend and coworker Hannah, played by Kerry Godliman, discussing the new volunteer, Vicky, who has just started at the home. Hannah is skeptical of Vicky's motivations for volunteering, as she seems more interested in posting selfies on social media than actually caring for the residents.

Meanwhile, Dougie, played by Karl Pilkington, is up to his usual antics, causing chaos and confusion as he struggles to adjust to his new role as a caretaker.
