The Disney Channel featured a special Olympics themed series of challenges in the summer of 2008. The sports began on July 27 and ran through to August 30. The Disney Games were hosted by Cody Linley and Meagan Jette Martin. The 2008 Disney games, as opposed to those that came before it, featured five events and internet hosts.

For the 2008 Disney Channel Games 37 Disney stars where chosen from around the globe with most coming from the United States. All of the contestants were brought together at Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida. The games themselves featured a series of different physical challenges such as relay races and obstacle courses. The games were presented in five special broadcasts in half hour segments. These telecast began airing weekly each Sunday 8:00 pm ET, PT on the Walt Disney Channel. It was also hosted by Brian Stepanek whom many will know from the Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Phil Lewis, whom had been a host contributor in the past for the games did not host in 2008.

Each broadcast closed out with a post game music session with performances including Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, Cheetah Girls, Demi Lovato and Jordan Pruitt.
