Emma Approved is a web series produced by Pemberley Digital, and it serves as a modern adaptation of Jane Austen's classic novel Emma. The show premiered in 2013 and has been praised for its contemporary take on the story, as well as its well-rounded and diverse characters.

The series follows Emma Woodhouse, a twenty-something woman who has taken on the role of a lifestyle advisor and matchmaker through her own business, Emma Approved. Throughout the series, Emma uses her social media presence, complete with a YouTube channel, to document her efforts to help her clients improve their lives and find love.

Joanna Sotomura plays the role of Emma Woodhouse, and she delivers a charming and nuanced performance. She showcases Emma's intelligence and passion for her work, while also highlighting her flaws and blind spots in her personal relationships. Brent Bailey plays the role of Alex Knightley, Emma's business partner and longtime friend. Alex serves as Emma's voice of reason, often coming in to offer her guidance when she gets too carried away with her matchmaking schemes.
