Ep 6. Rhinoceros

In Fargo season 2 episode 6, entitled "Rhinoceros," the story once again shifts focus to Kansas City, where things are starting to heat up between rival gangs. As the tension rises, we get a closer look at some of the key players on both sides of the conflict, and learn more about their motivations and personalities.

One of the most prominent characters in this episode is Mike Milligan, a cagey and charismatic enforcer for the Kansas City mafia. Played with swagger and charm by actor Bokeem Woodbine, Mike is a complex and fascinating figure who is both fearsome and magnetic. In "Rhinoceros," we see him at his most ruthless as he tries to get ahold of a valuable asset that could help his bosses consolidate their power.

Another key player in the Kansas City scene is Joe Bulo, the smooth-talking fixer who is sent in to negotiate with the Gerhardt family, the North Dakota crime syndicate that is standing in the way of the Kansas City empire. Joe is played by actor Brad Garrett, who brings a dry wit and Machiavellian intelligence to the role. In "Rhinoceros," we see him working his charms on a couple of the Gerhardt women, with unexpected results.

Speaking of the Gerhardt family, they are once again at the center of the action in this episode. We see matriarch Floyd Gerhardt (played by Jean Smart) trying to hold her family together as they face threats from all sides. Floyd is a formidable presence, and Smart imbues her with a steely determination and fierce loyalty to her brood. In "Rhinoceros," we also get a deeper look at some of the other Gerhardt women, especially Simone (Rachel Keller), who is caught in a web of deceit and betrayal that could have dire consequences.

As always, the themes of sin and redemption loom large in this episode of Fargo. We see characters grappling with the consequences of their actions, and struggling to find the right path forward. There are moments of violence and brutality, but also moments of unexpected tenderness and compassion. It's a show that refuses to shy away from the darker side of human nature, while also recognizing the inherent goodness that lies within us all.

Overall, "Rhinoceros" is another strong entry in the second season of Fargo. It's a gripping and tense hour of television that builds on the momentum of previous episodes, and promises even more twists and turns to come. With its outstanding cast, sharp writing, and evocative cinematography, Fargo continues to be one of the most compelling shows on television today.
