Stacy Whitener is a fourth-generation cotton farmer in Lubbock, Texas. As a young girl, she never saw herself as a farmer, but after college, she decided to return to her family's farm. Now she manages the day-to-day operations on the farm, which includes 7,000 acres of land and 14 center pivot systems. Stacy's work doesn't just end in the fields, however. She's also involved in a range of organizations that support local farmers, including one that advocates for cotton farmers across the United States.

Jennifer Berdoll, also featured in this episode, is a beekeeper in Austin, Texas. She runs Austin Honey Company with her husband, Brandon. Jennifer first became interested in bees after attending an herbal medicine workshop. She was fascinated by how bees are such an integral part of the environment, and started keeping bees herself. Today, Austin Honey Company has more than 80 hives throughout the city of Austin. The Berdolls sell their honey at farmers markets and local stores, as well as online.

Throughout the episode, viewers get a glimpse into a day in the life of these two hardworking women. We also learn about the many challenges that cotton farmers face, including unpredictable weather patterns and the ever-changing market. Despite these obstacles, Stacy remains passionate about her work.

Jennifer's day is equally busy, but in a different way. We see her checking on her hives and working with her team to harvest honey. She also takes us on a tour of the honey house, where the honey is extracted and bottled.
