  • January 19, 2017

First Dates (Ireland) is a reality show that follows singles on their first dates at a restaurant called Gibson Hotel. In season 2, episode 1, we are introduced to a new set of hopeful daters.

The episode starts off with an introduction to the restaurant staff, who help set up the dates and serve the meals. Maître D' Mateo Saina welcomes the diners and offers his advice on how to make an impression on their dates.

The first couple we meet is Eamonn and Claire. Eamonn is a 27-year-old farmer from Tipperary, while Claire is a 25-year-old engineer from Dublin. They seem to have a lot in common, such as their love for animals and the outdoors. Although they are both nervous, their conversation flows smoothly and they seem to hit it off.

Next up is Amy, a 26-year-old receptionist from Cork, on a date with Gavin, a 30-year-old inventory manager from Dublin. Amy is immediately put off by Gavin's flashy watch and designer clothes, which she finds a bit showy. However, they both share an interest in fitness, as Gavin is a personal trainer and Amy enjoys running.

The third couple of the night is Olivia and Amor. Olivia is a 35-year-old human resources manager who is looking for someone who is honest and loyal. Amor, on the other hand, is a 28-year-old painter who is interested in finding someone who is adventurous and open-minded. Although they come from different backgrounds, they both have a good time on their date.

Finally, we are introduced to Rachel and David. Rachel is a 25-year-old model from Dublin, while David is a 27-year-old sales manager from Limerick. Both of them are well-dressed and confident, which makes for an interesting dynamic. Rachel is a bit put off by David's straightforward personality but decides to give him a chance.

As the night progresses, we see the daters receiving advice and encouragement from their friends and family, who are watching from a separate room. Some of the highlights include Eamonn's mother giving him a pep talk and Rachel's friends coaching her on how to flirt.

In the end, we are left wondering if any of the couples will have a second date. While some seemed to hit it off, others had a few moments of awkwardness. The show does not reveal their decisions, leaving us on a cliffhanger until the next episode.

Overall, the first episode of First Dates (Ireland) season 2 is an enjoyable and light-hearted look at the world of modern dating. With a mix of personalities and backgrounds, there is something for everyone to relate to.
