A Plate of Moon is the fourth episode of the first season of the anthology series Food Lore. The show takes viewers on a culinary journey through Asia with each episode focusing on a unique story that revolves around food. In this episode, the story takes us to South Korea where we are introduced to a young girl named Eun-hee and her family.

Eun-hee's family is struggling to make ends meet and her father works multiple jobs to support the family. One day, Eun-hee's mother falls ill and is no longer able to work. As a result, the family is forced to live on a tight budget and Eun-hee's father must take on even more work to keep the family fed.

Despite their financial struggles, Eun-hee's mother always manages to cook up delicious meals for the family. One of Eun-hee's favorite dishes is a traditional Korean dish called Japchae. It's a stir-fried dish that typically includes vegetables, meat, and glass noodles. Eun-hee's mother always makes a big pot of Japchae for the family and it brings them all together around the dinner table.

One day, Eun-hee's father surprises her with a trip to the supermarket. Eun-hee is overjoyed at the thought of having new ingredients to cook with, but her father tells her that they are only there to pick up a few items for her mother's soup. Eun-hee is disappointed but still grateful for the trip.

While they are at the supermarket, Eun-hee notices a woman stealing food. She follows the woman out of the store and watches as she shares the food with a group of homeless people who are huddled together in an alleyway.

This encounter sparks something in Eun-hee and she decides to take the leftover ingredients from her mother's soup and make Japchae for the homeless people she saw in the alleyway. She spends all afternoon cooking and is delighted when the homeless people enjoy her food.

Eun-hee's act of kindness doesn't go unnoticed and soon people from all over the city are coming together to cook and share food with the homeless community. Eun-hee's family is overwhelmed by the generosity they witness and they are proud to be a part of something so meaningful.

The episode highlights the power of food to bring people together, regardless of their financial situation. It also shows the impact that small acts of kindness can have on a community. A Plate of Moon is a heartwarming and inspiring story that showcases the importance of family, community, and the power of food.
