Ep 1. Pilot

In the first episode of Future Man's debut season, aptly named "Pilot," viewers are introduced to the show's protagonist Josh Futturman. Josh is an average, if somewhat aimless, young man who spends most of his free time playing a video game called "Biotic Wars." However, after Josh finally beats the game, he is visited by two characters from the game, Tiger and Wolf, who reveal that the game was actually a training simulation and that Josh has been chosen to help them save the world from a dystopian future.

Tiger and Wolf are from the year 2162, where humanity is on the brink of extinction thanks to a herpes-based virus that has wiped out most of the population. The only hope for humanity is to send someone back in time to prevent the virus from ever being created in the first place. That someone is supposed to be Josh, who is initially skeptical of their claims but quickly realizes that they are telling the truth.

Josh, Tiger, and Wolf travel back in time to 1969, specifically to a laboratory where the virus is being created. Josh is tasked with preventing the virus from being released, but quickly realizes that it's not as simple as he thought it would be. He accidentally causes a chain reaction that leads to the virus being released early, but he and his companions manage to escape before they are infected.

Throughout the episode, there is a lot of humor and pop culture references, as well as plenty of action and sci-fi tropes. Josh's transition from video game addict to time-traveling hero is played for laughs, but there is also a genuine sense of danger and urgency as the group tries to prevent the virus from being released. There are also hints of a larger conspiracy at play, as Tiger and Wolf are not the only time travelers trying to change the course of history.

Overall, the first episode of Future Man does an excellent job of introducing the characters and setting up the premise, while also delivering plenty of laughs and action. It's an entertaining and engaging start to what promises to be a wild ride through time and space.
