Garfield Holiday Collection is a charming animated show featuring everyone's favorite lasagna-loving cat, Garfield. Produced by Mendelson/Paws Productions and first released in 2004, this collection features three classic Garfield holiday specials: Garfield's Halloween Adventure, Garfield Thanksgiving, and A Garfield Christmas.

In Garfield's Halloween Adventure, Garfield and his pal Odie go trick-or-treating one night and end up in an abandoned house, where they accidentally awaken a group of ghosts who demand to be taken back to their old haunt. Garfield and Odie must then navigate spooky obstacles as they try to fulfill the ghosts' wishes and make it back home in time for Halloween.

Garfield Thanksgiving centers around Jon Arbuckle's plan to spend Thanksgiving with his parents, leaving Garfield and Odie to fend for themselves. The two friends end up in a turkey-themed adventure as Garfield tries to resist his primal instincts to eat the turkey they encounter, and they are ultimately welcomed to a heartwarming Thanksgiving dinner by a group of kind-hearted farmers.

A Garfield Christmas brings us into the heartwarming world of the Arbuckle family as they spend Christmas Eve together. Garfield, who normally cannot stand the holiday, learns about the true meaning of Christmas and the importance of family traditions when his grandmother reads him a special story. Garfield and his family then come together to make a beautiful Christmas morning for each other.

What makes these classic Garfield holiday specials so endearing is their ability to tap into the sentimentality of each holiday season while still keeping Garfield's signature sass and humor intact. The animation is colorful and sharp, the voice acting is spot-on, and the storytelling is heartwarming without being cloying. Garfield feels like a real character who grows and learns throughout his holiday escapades, offering a refreshing take on the character that hasn't lost any of his charm over the years.

Garfield's Halloween Adventure works well as a spooky Halloween tale that is just scary enough to be intriguing for kids but not so much that it will give them nightmares. The animation is atmospheric, and the climactic showdown with the ghosts creates suspense and excitement in a way that isn't often seen in children's animated specials.

Garfield Thanksgiving takes a slightly different approach, focusing on warmth and family as opposed to the spookiness of Halloween. The countryside setting and down-to-earth characters add a level of sweetness and authenticity to the story, and the underlying message about being thankful and appreciative is important without being preachy.

A Garfield Christmas is perhaps the most heartwarming of the three specials, touching on important themes of family and togetherness during the holiday season. Garfield's character arc is well-executed, and seeing him realize the importance of Christmas is genuinely heartwarming. The song "Christmas Time is Here" is also a standout moment of the special, perfectly capturing the feeling of the holiday and the sense of togetherness that it brings.

Overall, Garfield Holiday Collection is a delightful animated collection that will bring smiles to the faces of all ages. Its timeless stories and relatable characters make it a must-watch for fans of Garfield and those looking for a little bit of holiday cheer.
