Ep 3. Her Rival

In Gold Digger season 1 episode 3, titled "Her Rival," we see more of Julia's past as she continues to navigate her new relationship with Benjamin, a wealthy man 25 years her junior. As they begin to plan a trip together, Benjamin's ex-wife, Della, suddenly reappears in their lives and puts a damper on their plans.

Della, who is the mother of Benjamin's two children, is initially friendly to Julia, but it soon becomes clear that she has some reservations about their relationship. She begins to subtly undermine Julia, making comments about her age and suggesting that she may not be trustworthy.

Julia becomes increasingly paranoid about Della's intentions, especially after she learns that Della has hired a private investigator to look into her past. She becomes determined to prove to Benjamin and Della that she is not a gold digger and that she genuinely cares for him.

Meanwhile, Julia's children are also struggling with her relationship with Benjamin. Her son, Patrick, is especially skeptical and begins to investigate Benjamin's past on his own. He uncovers some disturbing information about Benjamin that could potentially ruin their relationship.

As tensions mount between Julia and Della, Benjamin becomes caught in the middle. He tries to remain impartial, but he is clearly torn between his loyalty to his ex-wife and his growing feelings for Julia.

Throughout the episode, we see flashbacks of Julia's past and how it has shaped her relationships with men. It becomes clear that her desire to be financially independent has often driven her choices, which has caused some friction with her family and friends.

As the episode comes to a close, Julia and Benjamin's relationship continues to be tested. Della's true intentions are revealed, and it becomes clear that she is not as innocent as she first appeared. Julia and Benjamin are left to pick up the pieces of their fractured relationship and decide what their future together will look like.
