Ep 8. A Pair Apart

After narrowly escaping the ambush in the previous episode, Gran and his companions resume their journey towards the Island of the Astrals. The group is confronted with a major obstacle when they encounter a powerful duo known as the Twin Elements. These two control the elements of fire and water and use their powers to create a wall of flames and a pool of water that traps Gran and his friends.

During the fight, Lyria and Vyrn are separated from Gran, Katalina, and Rackam. The two smaller creatures end up battling the Twin Elements' minions, while the other three face off against the more powerful enemies. The Twin Elements prove to be quite formidable, but with their teamwork and determination, Gran, Katalina, and Rackam are able to hold their own.

Meanwhile, Lyria and Vyrn are in a difficult spot. They are attacked by a swarm of small creatures, and Lyria's powers are ineffective against them. Vyrn, being the clever and resourceful dragon he is, uses his own fire breath to help Lyria repel the swarm. The two are able to fend off the creatures and rejoin their friends just in time to assist them in their battle.

The fight continues to escalate, with both sides unleashing more powerful attacks. It becomes clear that the Twin Elements are not going down without a fight, but Gran and his friends are determined to emerge victorious. During the fight, Gran taps into the power of his weapons--the sword and the gun--in order to perform a powerful combination attack with Katalina.

In the end, the Twin Elements are defeated, and Gran and his companions are able to move on to the next leg of their journey. However, the battle was not without consequences. Rackam's Airship takes on some major damage during the fight, and the crew must make some repairs before continuing on. Additionally, the group is left with the understanding that their journey is only going to get more difficult as they go on.

As the episode comes to a close, the group prepares to move on to the next island, but it is clear that they are all feeling the weight of the challenges that lie ahead. Gran and his companions have faced many obstacles so far, but they know that there is still a long way to go before they reach the Island of the Astrals. Despite the hardships they have faced, however, the group remains resolute in their determination to succeed.
