Candela soon finds out that Diaz is not exaggerating. The island is a lawless place, where the powerful and the corrupt rule with impunity. Candela's first case involves a lighthouse keeper who is suspected of murdering his wife. Meanwhile, Candela is also dealing with personal demons. She is haunted by a traumatic event from her past that has led her to question her own judgment and abilities. She's been prescribed sleeping pills to help her cope, but she's not entirely sure that she can trust her own mind.
As Candela delves deeper into the lighthouse murder case, she discovers that there are some very powerful people who don't want her to get to the truth. She is threatened and intimidated by unknown assailants, but she refuses to back down. She is helped by her new friend, Eneko (Cristóbal Suárez), a local journalist who is investigating the same case. Together, Candela and Eneko set out to unravel the mystery of the lighthouse murder, even as they are beset by danger and opposition.
Along with Candela's story, we also get glimpses into the personal lives of other characters we already know from the show, like the lawyer Monica (Yaiza Guimaré), who is pregnant and struggling to make sense of her life; and Bruno (José Sacristán), the owner of the island's only bar, who is still in love with Candela despite the fact that she rebuffed his advances in season one.
