Ep 2. Someone is Lying

In the second episode of the first season of "I May Destroy You," titled "Someone is Lying," Arabella (played by Michaela Coel) is still struggling to piece together the events of the night she was sexually assaulted. She meets up with her friend Simon (played by Aml Ameen) to try and fill in some of the gaps in her memory, and discovers that they both took a drug called GHB. Simon says he didn't think anything had happened to them after they took the drug, but Arabella isn't sure.

As she continues to investigate what happened to her, Arabella starts to feel more and more like she's being watched. She gets a text from someone who claims to know what happened to her, and when she meets up with the person, she discovers that they're just a stranger hoping to make money by selling her story.

Meanwhile, Arabella's flatmate Terry (played by Weruche Opia) is dealing with some relationship issues of her own. She's started seeing a guy named Theo (played by Harriet Webb), but can't quite tell if he's actually interested in her or if he's just pretending to be. When Theo gives Terry a pair of shoes that he says he stole for her, she starts to wonder if he's just trying to impress her.

As the episode goes on, Arabella's investigation continues to yield more questions than answers. She meets with another woman who says she was also assaulted at the same club they were at, but can't identify her attacker. Arabella also discovers that her former literary agent has been lying to her about a meeting with a publisher, and wonders if she can trust anyone in her life.

Overall, "Someone is Lying" is a tense and emotionally charged episode that explores the complexities of sexual assault and memory. Coel delivers a powerful performance as Arabella, who is determined to find out the truth about what happened to her. At the same time, the episode also explores themes of trust and betrayal in relationships, as Terry grapples with whether or not she can trust Theo. With its compelling characters and thought-provoking storylines, "I May Destroy You" continues to be one of the most exciting new shows on television.
