Ep 3. The Great Recession

In It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia season 5 episode 3, titled "The Great Recession," the gang finds themselves struggling financially due to the economic recession. As they attempt to come up with ways to make money, they quickly realize that their usual schemes aren't working anymore.

Dennis suggests they try to tap into the foreclosure market by buying homes at auction and flipping them for a profit. Charlie pitches his idea for "Kitten Mittens" and insists that it's the perfect product to make them rich. Mac suggests they become investment bankers, and Dee wants to start a pyramid scheme selling "diet water."

As they each try to pursue their own get-rich-quick schemes, they realize that they're in over their heads. Dennis and Charlie can't seem to flip a house without causing significant damage, Dee's pyramid scheme falls apart almost immediately, and Mac is forced to confront the harsh realities of Wall Street.

Meanwhile, Frank is dealing with his own financial problems as he tries to win back his ex-wife's fortune by reclaiming some of the possessions she left behind. His desperation leads him to a local strip club, where he finds himself in an unexpected position of power.

As the episode progresses, the gang's schemes become more and more ridiculous, and they continue to spiral out of control. Despite their wild schemes and bizarre antics, however, they all ultimately learn valuable lessons about the dangers of greed and the importance of working hard for their money.

Overall, "The Great Recession" is a hilarious and insightful episode that showcases the sheer absurdity of the gang's attempts to get rich quick. From Charlie's completely impractical inventions to Dee's misguided entrepreneurship, it's clear that these characters are in way over their heads. As always, though, their struggles make for some truly hilarious moments and plenty of memorable one-liners.
